Commas be Banished

In my last post I confessed to being on an eradication hunt for my overuse of commas. Before I launch into tonight’s editing efforts I thought I’d share some statistics to highlight my efforts.

In the first 11 chapters of Vengeance Will Come:

  • As at 20/11/2016 = 37, 806 total words
  • As at 27/11/2016 = 33, 419 total words
  • As at 20/11/2016 = 1, 429 commas
  • As at 27/11/2016 = 1, 040 commas
  • As at 20/11/2016 = 180 semi-colons
  • As at 27/11/2016 = 106 semi-colons
  • As at 20/11/2016 = 100 colons
  • As at 27/11/2016 = 81 colons
  • As at 20/11/2016 = 2, 628 full stops
  • As at 27/11/2016 = 2, 422 full stops
  • As at 20/11/2016 = 298 question marks
  • As at 27/11/2016 = 286 question marks

  • As at 20/11/2016 = 21 exclamation marks
  • As at 27/11/2016 = 15 exclamation marks
